A Mother’s Note

R.H.

The fate of time, and worlds between,

Has drawn a veil that isn’t seen.

At times it seems unfair and cruel

To live by this forbidding rule;

But from where I watch and pray for you,

I see a very different view.

For a mothers love runs to deep,

It can not fail, and does not sleep.

So above all else, remember dear;

You might not see me, but I am here.

And through out all time, one thing is true;

I am forever watching over you.

                With love,

                                     Your Mother

Called To Serve

R.H.

I’ve been called on a mission, of a peculiar kind

Not the one, where lost souls I find.

I’ve died you see, and gone above;

I’ve seen its warmth and felt its love.

The man in charge asked only one thing:

“What have you learned on your earth-bound fling?”

An odd and strange choice of word;

Thought I, this man sounds absurd!

My life on earth was hard and long,

Yet he said ‘fling’; his voice in song.

He must have seen my thoughtful gaze,

And thought to try and clear my haze.

“Your life on earth was but only one part,

It did not begin where you’ve seen it start.

It does not end where you thought it had;

You go on living, for good or bad.

Your life on earth was long and hard,

But to misery and woe you were not barred.

I tempted and tried you as best I could

To help you learn the things you would.

I loved you in every way there was;

Just as a loving Father does.

Now that your home and through with your test,

I know you’ve done and tried your best.

I want to know what you’ve learned in strife,

That can help improve your heavenly life?”

Thought for a time and wondered did I,

 Is this the question he’ll ask every guy?

I thought it would have been nice to be told

The question you’d answer when you got old.

A flame flickered somewhere inside;

And I knew this question could not hide.

“I’ve learned that it’s best to help who I can;

Every child, and woman, and man.”

He smiled a most glorious one;

A Father to his long lost son.

“Your ready now, a mission to serve,

The hearts and minds are yours to curve.

Tell the world what I’ve asked of you;

Don’t worry; you’ll know just what to do.”

So brothers and sisters, I ask you this way;

What have you learned on earth today?

The last Days

            R.H.

The time is drawing near; I can feel it in my soul.

The end is almost here; the plan is almost whole.

As the storm brews in the distance sky,

And the world sins in the master’s eye,

A presence in my heart does swell

Strange and new, but I know it well.

I feel my Savior close at hand

I only hope that I can stand

True and pure; good and strong

Faithful and righteous the whole day long.

And though it seems forever yet

The dawn of earth will never set

And the world has once again denied

What the Prophets have labored and tried

This only proves their words are true

And what they see is a Holy view.

At times I know it seems not so

That to the Earth, the Lord will go

So I pray that through the doubts of men

And through the doubts of where and when

You will not catch the devils bait

And hear the words “you are too late”

I pray we all stand firm and tall

Until the day satan does fall

I pray we know our Lord’s dear face

And become a perfect celestial race.
