My Thought, Hopes, and Dreams

As life goes by I start to wonder
How people can grow to hate one another
War it seems is everywhere
Some deny it but we know it’s there

Life should be of love and truth
Learning from old and gaining from youth
God is there yet they don’t believe
And don’t notice the blessings they do receive

I do know my church is true
And when I’m older I hope to say “I do”
In the great and holy temple
And grow to be an old example

Someday I want to go on a mission
And gain from the Lord a vision
That will help me as I grow
To love and help all I do and do not know

I want to live a righteous life
And want to be a wonderful wife
To someone who holds the priesthood true
And the work of the Lord he’s willing to do

These are my thoughts, my hopes, my dreams
They may be big or so it seems
But through my faith in Jesus Christ
And my chances to choose the right

I will be blessed with all His might
Through all my pain and strife
He will be there to lift me high
His power I cannot deny

I know He will send the man for me
To be with for all eternity
All I have to do is prepare
And soon I will find myself there

WHEN I MET JESUS

When I was barely 10 years old
I felt like doing a deed
So when I saw a man fall down
I went to see what he’d need

As I bent down I looked in his eyes
I saw sadness mixed with love
I felt like I knew him before
I did! He was my brother from above

On his back was a heavy burden
It was big and made of wood
It was what made him fall
And now with love he stood

I asked where he was going
I almost began to cry
He told me that for every soul
He was being taken to die

With every step my brother took
My heart would break in 2
He would gladly give up his life
If it were to save me and you

As I walked the last steps with him
To help him with his load
He sang a song of joy
Down that dreary road

When at last he was raised
By nails his body hung
I looked up at this man I just met
And songs of praise I sung
