The Tune

In front of wood and ivory

sitting all alone

Feeling something missing

his song becomes a groan.

Its getting near to night

depression fills the room

If only he could find

that one beautiful tune.

He’s tried so very hard

but nothing came his way

He wishes he could have

just one more single day.

But reality settles in

the day is now all through

He cannot quite believe it

but “yes it must be true”

Then like in Bible times

a bright white light appears

And in a glorious vision

he sees a tune through tears.

Not needing to see the notes

he knows his work is done

For God has shown him the tune

the only and true one.

In front of wood and ivory

sitting not alone

Feeling nothings missing

his song no more a groan.

Its more than a beautiful tune

its a song with words of Love

Given to him divinely

by his Father up above.

I thank God every day

for my beautiful little song

And pray we’ll be together

all eternity long.

Dear Mother

In pain I see your face

Sweat forming on your brow,

Family sit beside you

They’re holding your hands now.

People all around you

Telling you what to do

But it’s just so hard to listen

At this special time for you

At last the trial is over

Your body all limp from pain

One more heavenly child

Your family now has gained

A baby boy is given

In your care he is placed

Suddenly sadness vanishes

Tears of joy fall from your face.

I would think of that trialing time

Those many years ago

And wonder why you did it

To me only God could know

But now it becomes all clear

The veil falls from my eyes

As now I am happily married

I feel a need to try

To create that eternal family

Extended from your own

For this is the great plan

Our father has always known

But without a mother to do this

The plan would not succeed

For as you already know

This is an eternal need

Dear mother you are so special

I doubt you really know

For if it weren’t for you

I would not be so

To me you are a hero

One who truly succeeds

Who overcomes all obstacles

And every trying need

Now may you always know

Of the love we feel for you

For allowing us to be

Your children and family too

And on this special day

We remember your time of birth

And thank and love and bless you

For you are of great worth.

Today Dear Child

Today dear child

Your life now begun,

Straight from our Father

From Heaven you’ve come.

Down to this earth

Midst toil and strife

You have been born today

And blessed with life.

We pray for you now

For your life ahead

That you will see trials

As blessings instead.

For as sure as we live

We face them each day

But to overcome them

This is the way.

Follow the spirit

For it’s sent from above

Follow Christ’s teachings

For he taught of love.

Follow the guidance

Of your family around

For with wisdom and love

We do surround.

So as you grow through this life

Remember what’s true,

You’re a child of God

And he loves you too.
