The Path

As a boy, first step was taken, so cautious and with care

Then you took a second one, more confidence was there

Your stride became unaided, as you learned to walk alone

Making your way back to Him, to your Heavenly home

Each step taken, through this life, along tribulation壮 path

So much to lose, so much to gain, all your Father hath

The chosen course brought sorrow, you recognized the sin

The spirit touched your heart, a change was wrought within

My own way was arduous, there were times I strayed

But I knew, what I must do, for me a debt was paid

The dawning of a perfect day, our two paths came together

Opportunity for a family, to dwell in peace forever

Evil knew the power, our union could become

With snares, he tried to render, our ties of love undone

Through it all, eyes toward Him, we remained on bended knee

For our faith, we were blessed, with the glorious gift to see

We stood our ground and fought, for what we knew was right

With fervent prayer we made it, through the darkness to the light

Here we are, first year gone, our love made deep and true

Side by side, best friends are we, for we have seen it through

When you tire I値l carry you, toward the rod, your hand I値l place

Knowing for me, you値l do the same, together we値l set the pace

My love for you is endless, this life I shall not fear

I thank God, everyday, for the path that led us here

Today I wed, my one true love, for all eternity

I know it is true, I was created for you, and you created for me

Now through this life, we値l walk the path, hand in hand together

Toward our Heavenly home we step, to rule as gods forever
