Joseph
Smith
Humble boy, Seeking for truth,
Courageous enough to kneel in prayer.
His prayer was answered, a vision he saw,
The truth coming from a Living God.
He told his story, Not many believed.
He could not deny it; He was true to his word.
Hated by peers, Now with Angels as friends,
He’d learned for himself a truth to defend.
By power of God a book was brought forth,
New truths revealed and commandments given,
The church was organized, priesthood restored,
Kingdom of God again on the Earth.
Persecution continued, Trials severe.
Patience he learned, While pain he endured.
Going as a Lamb, Trusting in God,
For his testimony he willingly died.
This humble boy turned humble man.
Called of God, His chosen Seer.
We’ll honor forever the life lived by,
Our Beloved Prophet, Joseph Smith.
