Dee Jay Bawden
sculpted this seven foot bronze of the Prophet Joseph Smith and his loyal
and humble servant and brother Hyrum Smith. Together they were martyred for
their testimonies of the restored Gospel. The Monument was positioned so
that Joseph and Hyrum could look past the Carthage Jail in the background
and put that part of their lives behind them.
